5 Weeks or So....

I am a little over 5 weeks out.... and I have to say.... feeling great for the most part!!
I absolutely am amazed at how my tastes have changed. I LOVE protein.... chicken... turkey... and tuna are staples. I no longer feel like I can only eat cottage cheese and natural applesauce.... I still LOVE and crave skim milk....I have increased my protein from 55-60 grams a day to 70-85 a day.... and this is without shakes!
I expanded my liquids from sugar-free Kool-Aid to include Fruit 2o.... I now need to add in G2.... I still feel like I am always on the verge of dehydration.... but am watching it and getting in over 64 ounces pretty much every day.
On the issue of food... things I used to love... smell horrible... fast food is one example.... I almost gag at the smell of fried food... and I have taught myself to say glump glump... it is the sound of arteries clogging. I have such amazing support around me.... I do want to mention Naia because she is a HUGE part of the success... when I crave nasty food... she will say... oohhh tastes bad... so now I do that with a lot of items.... You would not believe how easy it makes things! And.... it is funny so it really detracts from the craving!
We did join a gym this past week.... We met with a trainer for a body assessment on Friday... and go back early Tuesday for our first workout... He is REALLY knowledgeable.... and will push us.... We are going to workout together which will be great. I have a goal of running a 5k... and he believes it can happen by Spring.... I will flip of it does... My surgeon will also love the trainer!
Holiday shopping this year is so much fun..... This is the year for me to spoil mom! TG said I can... so I am.... I have many special surprises for her... I cannot wait!
Today I am going into work to do a few site visits- assuming the snow is ok.... and then will go get Bob..... I think Bob needs to go to the pet toy store... I hope we can get there while they have Santa pictures. I also hope he does not destroy the store... oh and that he will get back in the car before we leave... Last time... He LOVED the store soo much he would not leave!
